Medical Eye Care

Diagnosis and Treatment of Eye Disease

Dr. Wynne is experienced in the treatment of glaucoma, eye infections, dry eye, and allergies as well as early detection of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease which results in progressive damage to the optic nerve. The most common form of glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma, is associated with an increase in the pressure within the eye. There are several types of eye drops which are effective in treating glaucoma as well as several eye surgeries which all act by lowering the pressure within the eye.

Visual Field Testing

Visual field testing involves the detection of a target of variable contrast presented in the periphery. A range of medical problems including glaucoma, stroke and brain tumors can reduce the peripheral vision. These problems may go unnoticed due to the overlapping vision of the two eyes.

Retinal Photography

The Marco AFC 330 camera takes digital images of the retina and stores these images for future comparison. This technology aids in the detection of glaucoma, macular degeneration, melanoma of the eye as well as many other anomalies of the eye.

Sleep Apnea

Did you know that the lack of oxygen to the body caused by a type of Glaucoma which develops despite normal eye pressures. Sleep apnea also increases a person’s risk for macular degeneration and nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).
