LASIK (laser in situ keratomileusis) is a surgical procedure that uses a laser to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism. In LASIK, a thin flap in the cornea is created using either a microkeratome blade or a femtosecond laser. The surgeon folds back the flap, then removes some corneal tissue underneath using an excimer laser. The flap is then laid back in place, covering the area where the corneal tissue was removed.

Glaucoma is an eye disease which results in progressive damage to the optic nerve. The most common form of glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma, is associated with an increase in the pressure within the eye.There are several types of eye drops which are effective in treating glaucoma as well as several eye surgeries which all act by lowering the pressure within the eye.
Visual field testing involves the detection of a target of variable contrast presented in the periphery. A range of medical problems including glaucoma, stroke and brain tumors can reduce the peripheral vision. These problems may go unnoticed due to the overlapping vision of the two eyes.
The Marco AFC 330 camera takes digital images of the retina and stores these images for future comparison. This technology aids in the detection of glaucoma, macular degeneration, melanoma of the eye as well as many other anomalies of the eye.
